How to Understand the Bible

Tuesdays @ 7:00 PM,
Starting Sep. 8
This course presents the main beliefs on how to read, understand, and interpret the Bible, and may be the best place to start in the School of Ministry. Time will be spent introducing students to the major techniques of biblical interpretation. Students will learn how to study the historical background and the context of specific passages. This course will help the student appropriately understand and apply scripture to their life, work and calling. (Please note, this is the Intro to Biblical Interpretation Class for those pursuing ministry credentials.)

New Testament Survey

Mondays @ 6:30 PM,
Starting Sep. 14
A panoramic view of the chief events, prominent characters, main themes and salient teachings of each New Testament letter in relation to its historical, geographical, and cultural contexts. This will include examining the integrity of the New Testament and how it came together. Emphasis will be placed on why we have four Gospels and the uniqueness of each Gospel, along with the foundation they lay for the balance of the New Testament. Skills will be acquired to more accurately interpret New Testament passages, which are essential for biblical ministry.
