As you all know, at GT, we are passionate about reaching people and growing together in Christ. In my 30 years of ministry here, I’ve learned that the only thing that’s constant about ministry is change. In fact, it’s one of our Core Values: We change our methods but never the message. I want to talk with you today about one such change.
Vacation Bible School served GT Church well for many years and we are grateful for the families and volunteers who were impacted. After much prayer and consideration, we have determined that a shift in strategy will help us more effectively accomplish our mission. The mission of GT Kids Ministry is to reach families and to partner with parents to help kids grow in Christ. If we truly want to disciple children, then we need to reach families. If we want to effectively reach families, we need to focus on times families can come together for a shared experience that ignites spiritual conversations between kids and their parents – both inside GT and in our community.
Instead of a 4-day VBS, we are excited to let you know that we are ramping up ministry throughout the year and will be offering more Family Experiences and Community Outreaches. These events will closely align with our Sunday morning experiences for kids. Stay informed about upcoming GT Kids events by following us on our GT Kids Facebook Group and GT Church website. We are looking forward to an incredible year of reaching people and growing together!
We also want to take a moment to say a huge thank you to each of you who have served with us at VBS over the years. We appreciate you, and we look forward to partnering with you in these future outreaches.
